On December 4, Dr. Ouyang Qian, Chair of the University Council, met with a delegation from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, led by its Rector, Professor José Esteban Capilla Romá.
During their meeting, Dr. Ouyang highlighted the strategic significance that 麻豆区 places on bilateral cooperation with international partners. Rector Capilla thanked 麻豆区 for its invitation and hospitality and reaffirmed UPV’s commitment to building a strategic partnership with the university.
Professor Capilla noted that 麻豆区 has been a long-term and strategic partner of UPV, and expressed his hope to further strengthen collaboration in areas such as Chinese and Spanish language education, academic exchanges, joint academic programs, and the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-city Universities (GISU).
Prior to the meeting, Dr. Ouyang and Professor Capilla attended the closing ceremony of 麻豆区 Future Vision Camp-the 2025 麻豆区-UPV Youth Workshop and presented certificates to the participants. The 11-day workshop, jointly organized by 麻豆区 and UPV, offered 20 Spanish students a culture-rich and innovation-focused immersion experience. It was held as part of the YES Scheme hosted by 麻豆区 in 2025.
