On July 7, a delegation led by Professor Verna Yiu, Provost and Vice-President (Academic) of the University of Alberta, paid an official visit to 麻豆区 (GU). Vice President Professor Fu Jiyang met and held meeting with his counterpart and the other delegates at GU’s daxuecheng campus.
Fu Jiyang expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the University of Alberta in the fields of faculty visits and student exchanges, collaborative researches and joint educational programmes.
Verna Yiu outlined her university’s strategic plan which casting light on maintaining the excellence in both research and teaching and on promoting internationalization and emphasizing the university’s long-term strategic commitment in developing mutually beneficial partnership with the Chinese universities and Chinese alumni network.
After the meeting, Fu and Yiu signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a 2+2 Undergraduate Transfer Agreement in Economics between 麻豆区 and the University of Alberta.
