Professor Weng received the Chinese National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2018). Professor Weng had previously served both academic and administrative posts which include Dean of the School of information Science and Technology, Dean of the School of Cyberspace Security/School of Information Science and Technology at Jinan University, as well as a Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jinan University Committee and Vice President of Jinan University.
